The Comeback Code

The System That Makes It
Impossible to Lie to Yourself

Phase 2 · Systems — The T-Card Board
Where This Came From

A workshop floor, not a productivity app

Years running oilfield operations — equipment status tracked with T-cards: color, position, and flow told you everything in seconds
No searching, no logging in, no scrolling — you looked at the board and you knew exactly where everything stood
The same principle, pointed at a life instead of a workshop
The Comeback Code · Systems2
Why It Has To Be Visual

Willpower is invisible. That's the problem.

A habit tracked only in your head is a habit you can quietly negotiate away — no one's watching, including you
A board in your space is unavoidable. It doesn't ask you to remember your intentions — it shows you the truth whether you look for it or not
Same reason people never make it inside a gym door: the friction isn't the workout, it's the invisible decision beforehand. A visible system removes that decision

Two Ways To Run It

Physical or digital. Both work. Pick what you'll actually use.

Physical Board

Tactile, visible, sits in your space — a wall, a kitchen, a desk. You touch it, you move cards, you can't scroll past it by accident. This is the original version, still the most honest one.

Digital Board

Same core mechanic, tracked automatically over time — useful if you travel often or want the data trends without the physical setup. No wrong choice — try either, or both, and see what actually gets used.

The Core Mechanic

One small habit. Stacked onto one you already have.

Anchor the new habit to something you already do automatically. Put the small win before the reward, not instead of it — the reward stays the reward.
The Comeback Code · Systems5
A Real Example

Built one habit at a time, over weeks — not all at once

🛏️
Make the bed
🧘
Stretch
💧
Two glasses of water
Coffee (the reward)
Each one added weeks apart, once the last one stuck.
The Comeback Code · Systems6

Add one.
Let it stick. Then add the next.

Loading the board with five new habits at once is the fastest way to abandon all five. This is the one rule that matters more than any other in this phase.
Later In The Program

The board earns the right to ask more of you

Right now, the board is entirely personal — your habits, your pace, no requirements
Once nutrition and movement content lands later in the program, a small number of mandatory cards get added — never many
By then, you'll already trust the system — because you built it yourself, one small win at a time
The Comeback Code · Systems8

You don't need more willpower.
You need a board you can't lie to.
