The Comeback Code

How To Actually
Use The Board

Phase 2 · Systems — Board Walkthrough
The Four Card Types

This is exactly what they look like on the board

Anchor
Make the bed

A habit already running automatically — what new habits stack onto.

New Habit
Stretch for 2 minutes

The one small thing added this week — stacked, not floating alone.

Bad Habit
Phone in bed

Something you're breaking — sits in the Parking Lot until you're ready.

✦ Bonus Win
Walked the city with my daughter

Unplanned good activity, logged after the fact — not planned in advance.

Skipping breakfast
Cards live in a specific day and time slot — not just a loose list. Empty cells are normal, not a problem.

The Honesty Mechanism

Marking a card "Missed" requires a reason.
No silent skips.

New Habit
Stretch for 2 min

Tap "Missed Today" and the board asks why — even one word is fine.

This isn't about punishment. Writing the reason down turns a vague feeling into something you can actually see and work with.

Notes On Every Card

A short note, every day, on any card

Anchor
Morning coffee

Not required unless a card is marked missed — but available on every card, every day.

Use it for context: how it went, what made it easy or hard — anything worth remembering when you review the week.

The Weekly Reset

Once a week, the board clears — on purpose

Your weekly score is saved before anything resets
Bonus wins and bad habit slips move to the Parking Lot for review
Anchors and new habits stay put — notes and flags clear, the habits themselves don't disappear

The Weekly Commitment Contract

⚡ Put something real on the line

If I hit it — my reward

Something meaningful, decided in advance. A meal out, a morning off — genuinely wanted, not token.

If I don't — my consequence

Not punishment — a debt to your future self. A donation, a hard task, something that actually costs you.

My referee

Name the person who knows about this commitment. Accountability that exists outside your own head.

The Comeback Code · Systems7
End Of Week

One honest answer: did you hit it?

Yes or no — recorded once, not editable after. If yes, take the reward, no negotiating it down. If no, own the consequence and reset next week. The history log keeps every verdict, so the pattern becomes visible over time.
The Comeback Code · Systems8
The Weekly Whiteboard

A blank space for whatever the cards can't hold

Draw it, write it, sketch it — pen and eraser, adjustable size and color, with a stylus-only lock for anyone using a tablet. Some weeks need a reflection that doesn't fit in a card's note field. This is that space.
The Comeback Code · Systems9

Every part of this board
exists to make the truth visible.

Not to shame you. To make it impossible to quietly drift without noticing.
